Got questions? We've got answers. Here are the most common questions we hear from prospective students in Madison.
What should I bring to my first class?
Wear clean athletic clothes, bring a water bottle, and indoor flip flops or crocs for moving around the facility. We'll provide any additional training gear. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early so we can give you a tour, review expectations, and introduce you to your training partner.
Where is Journey Jiu Jitsu Academy located?
We're located at 3214 Kingsley Way, Madison, WI 53713.
What measures does the academy take to ensure safety during training?
Safety is huge. Rigorous cleaning protocols and we police / coach to safety rules on the mat when we see people doing dangerous things. We also have an anonymous safety survey that goes out every few classes which we monitor for frequent offenders.
Is there parking available at the academy?
Yes, we have ample parking available for our students and visitors. Parking is free and located directly at our facility.
What hygiene practices are in place at the academy?
Hygiene is paramount. We regularly clean mats and common areas and have many hygiene rules including but not limited to: cleaning feet using provided sanitizing wipes before entering the mat, wearing a rash guard under your gi, we require gis be freshly washed each training. We have a pretty clean gym :)
What are the academy's hours of operation?

How much does a gi cost?
We sell them for $119-$129 before sales tax. For kids it's $89-$100. Multiple colors available and in stock.
